Quick warning about E Car insurance, today I got an email at 14.59 saying my insurance policy was going to be cancelled at 15.00, i rang them having previously been told by them on the phone that everything was in place and a drone repeatedly read a statement saying I had failed to action removing a second driver, this is because they previously told me on the phone they would do it, incompetent ass holes, now ive got to scrabble round with 1 minutes notice to replace my insurance, avoid them like the plague!
bummer hope you get it sorted, I guess that means you have sorted a car now then
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should change their name to A Car Insurance....of course stands for something else.
ReplyDeleteOf course I find the whole insurance game a huge scam....car, house, etc...they never want to pay out, they make it hard to do a claim, but they want your money early or on time, they invest your money to make money, they change the rules and can trade your policy off like a bubble gum card...pyramid scheme if I heard one before...I'd rather just put that money into a bank account that can't be drawn upon unless you file a special request with the bank...
Bummer, I hope you get it sorted out. I had a similar case of talking to a live person to clarify something for health insurance. It turns out that person was completely wrong and insurance did not pay. A little irritating when you base your decision off of what an actual person told you.
ReplyDeleteI've just had the opposite experience with house insurance. AXA can only be contacted via the net (unless they want something from you then they give you a premium rate number), but they still cocked up my cancellation and threatened to cancel my policy if i didn't pay them within 48 hours. The fact that I'd been trying to tell them I didn't want to renew with them for the past fortnight is obviously irrelevant!
ReplyDeleteThat's with a purely online company, so I'd recommend people avoid these clowns too.
Most insurance companies should have a level of customer relations like an ombudsman or something. I cannot believe that 1 minute is enough notice to let you know they are cancelling your service. I would call them up, speak to a supervisor and demand satisfaction. If they refuse ask to be connected to the office of the ombudsman - if they don't have one they are definitely flakey.
